Gang Arrested for Blackmailing Asian Vendors in Jleeb Al-Shuyoukh

Kuwait: The Ministry of Interior has dismantled a gang accused of blackmailing members of the Asian community in the Jleeb Al-Shuyoukh area by demanding money in exchange for protection from harassment and harm.

In an official statement, the Ministry confirmed that investigations revealed a video clip documenting the gang’s activities. The footage showed gang members extorting money from street vendors operating in informal markets, exploiting their vulnerable status.

Following the evidence, security teams carried out a carefully planned ambush, leading to the arrest of one of the gang members — a Bangladeshi national — caught red-handed while extorting money. Authorities have launched a search to track down the remaining suspects involved in the scheme, with legal action to follow.
