Dubai: The emirate’s position as a leading global education hub is set to grow further, with three prestigious international universities confirmed to open campuses in Dubai for the 2025–26 academic year.

The Knowledge and Human Development Authority (KHDA) announced that IIM Ahmedabad from India, the American University of Beirut (AUB) from Lebanon, and Fakeeh College for Medical Sciences from Saudi Arabia will establish operations in Dubai as part of the city’s Education 33 strategy.

IIM Ahmedabad is ranked 27th globally for Business and Management (QS Subject Rankings), AUB ranks 237th overall in the QS World Rankings, while Fakeeh College will boost Dubai’s medical education offering.

Dr. Wafi Dawood, CEO of the Strategic Development Sector at KHDA, emphasized that the expansion aligns with Dubai’s Economic Agenda D33, which seeks to transform the education sector, multiply educational tourism, and help position Dubai among the world’s top three economic hubs.

Currently, Dubai hosts 41 international higher education institutions, with 42,000+ students enrolled — a record high. By 2033, Dubai aims to attract enough international students to make up 50% of all higher education enrolment, contributing an estimated AED 5.6 billion ($1.52 billion) to GDP.

The move to attract top-ranked institutions and increase academic choices supports Dubai’s strategy of creating a world-class educational ecosystem, fostering innovation, scientific research, and collaboration with global industries.
