Saudi Arabia has disbursed 1.5 million Saudi riyals to 50 expatriate workers as part of a new support initiative for employees affected by company financial crises. The Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development distributed these funds to cover unpaid wages and end-of-service benefits.
This assistance is provided through a recently launched insurance scheme designed to protect workers in private sector companies facing financial difficulties. The program ensures workers receive their due compensation without having to leave the country. For those who choose to return home, the scheme provides final exit visas and economy class return tickets valued up to 1,000 riyals.
The ministry's Labor Affairs Agency is implementing this program to safeguard workers' rights and provide financial security during corporate financial challenges, demonstrating the kingdom's commitment to worker welfare in the private sector.
