Kuwait's Cybercrime Department has apprehended a person for promoting and participating in illegal online gambling activities through Snapchat. The arrest followed careful monitoring of suspicious account activity where the suspect promoted external gambling sites and collected money from followers through illegal methods.

The investigation revealed that the accused used the platform to create the illusion of substantial financial profits, encouraging followers to transfer money through banking applications before blocking them after receiving payments. The suspect also visited gambling halls and documented fake profits to create a false narrative of quick earnings, attempting to deceive more followers into participating in these illegal activities.

Through thorough investigation and modern technical means, authorities identified and located the suspect. After obtaining legal permission, he was arrested and confessed to conducting the prohibited activities. The individual has been referred to the Public Prosecution for Media, Information and Publishing Affairs for legal action.
