The Kuwait Fire Force has issued a strong warning to citizens and residents, urging them not to leave children unattended while at sea or in swimming pools. The reminder comes as part of the department's efforts to prevent accidents and promote safety during the summer season.
Brigadier General Mohammad Al-Gharib, Director of the Public Relations and Media Department, emphasized the importance of direct supervision and adherence to safety measures. Speaking to KUNA, he stressed that providing safety equipment such as lifebuoys and constantly monitoring children can significantly reduce the risk of drowning and other water-related accidents.
He highlighted that drowning incidents are among the most common risks during summer, especially in swimming pools, beaches, farms, chalets, and rest houses. Children can fall, get injured, or even drown silently in under a minute — regardless of their swimming abilities.
Al-Gharib also warned against unsafe behavior around pools, such as running, jumping into deep water, or attempting dangerous stunts, particularly when adults are not present.
He urged the public to remain vigilant and to immediately call the emergency hotline (112) if assistance is needed. The Kuwait Fire Force remains committed to raising awareness and ensuring community safety through proactive outreach and education.
