With the issuance of Decree No. 82 of 2025, Kuwait officially approved a memorandum of understanding to establish a Joint Cooperation Committee with India. The agreement, signed in New Delhi on December 4, outlines ten core tasks for the committee, aimed at strengthening bilateral relations and enhancing collaboration across multiple sectors.
The committee's responsibilities include:
Exchanging information and views on political topics and international issues of mutual interest.
Cooperating in defense, security, cybersecurity, and counter-terrorism.
Promoting economic, trade, and investment partnerships.
Strengthening food security through collaboration in agriculture, livestock, fisheries, and food processing.
Enhancing cooperation in education and skill development.
Addressing consular matters, including labor and immigration, and collaborating in health and pharmacy.
Advancing scientific and technological cooperation, particularly in space and emerging technologies.
Fostering cultural, humanitarian, and people-to-people ties.
Engaging in cooperation within the United Nations and other multilateral platforms.
Exploring additional areas of cooperation as agreed upon by both parties.
The committee is also tasked with monitoring and ensuring the implementation of bilateral agreements, treaties, and programs, while facilitating information exchange, expertise sharing, and consultations in these focus areas.
