Doha is set to welcome book lovers as the Qatar National Book Fair opens today at the Doha Exhibition and Convention Center (DECC). Running until May 17, the event marks the beginning of a vibrant spring reading season, bringing together book enthusiasts, authors, and publishers from across the globe.
This year’s fair will feature over 90 local and international publishers showcasing approximately 650,000 titles. Around 500 book publishers from 43 countries, including Palestine, are participating, many of them for the first time. The event highlights a rich collection of literature, including rare books and new publications from leading Arab and international publishers.
Held under the patronage of the Amir of Qatar, the fair aims to promote a culture of reading, encourage publishing, and foster cultural exchange. The exhibition is open daily from 9 am to 10 pm, with entry starting at 3 pm on Fridays.
