Qatar Maintains Position in Global Passport Rankings

Doha: Qatar has maintained its 47th place globally and 2nd in the Middle East in the latest quarterly update of the Henley Passport Index released on July 22, 2025.

The ranking, based on the number of destinations accessible without a prior visa, evaluated the strength of 199 passports. According to the index, Qatari passport holders can now travel visa-free to 112 out of 227 global destinations.

Within the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), Qatar ranks second only to the United Arab Emirates (UAE). The UAE advanced two spots to claim the 8th position worldwide, offering visa-free access to 184 destinations.

Here’s how other Gulf nations rank:

Kuwait: 50th place with access to 100 destinations

Saudi Arabia: 54th place with access to 91 destinations

Bahrain: 55th place with access to 90 destinations

Oman: 56th place with access to 88 destinations

The rankings reflect ongoing improvements in diplomatic relations and international mobility for GCC countries.
