Saudi Arabia to Impose Heavy Fines for Hosting Visitor Visa Holders in Mecca

Riyadh: Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Interior has announced that strict penalties will be enforced on individuals and establishments that provide accommodation in Mecca to those arriving on visitor visas. This includes hosting in apartments, private residences, hotels, or any other lodging intended for pilgrims.

Authorities emphasized that violators could face fines of up to SAR 100,000, with the penalty increasing based on the number of individuals illegally accommodated. The ministry urged all parties to comply with Hajj regulations and support the safe and orderly conduct of the pilgrimage.

The ministry also encouraged the public to report violations by contacting emergency numbers 911 or 999. The move underscores Saudi Arabia’s ongoing commitment to safeguarding the sanctity and security of the Hajj pilgrimage by preventing unauthorized access and accommodation.
