Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Interior has announced the arrest of 20,688 individuals during a week-long inspection campaign from April 10 to April 16, 2025, targeting violations of residency, labor, and border security laws.
According to the ministry, 12,372 people were arrested for violating residency laws, 3,566 for labor law violations, and 4,750 for attempting to cross borders illegally. The inspections were carried out across all regions of the Kingdom.
Authorities stated that the operations also targeted individuals who employ, harbor, or assist violators, warning that those found guilty could face up to 15 years in prison, fines of up to SR1 million, and confiscation of property and vehicles used in such activities.
The Ministry of Interior continues to encourage the public to report violators. Residents in the Mecca and Riyadh regions can call 911, while those in other regions should contact 999. The ministry affirmed its commitment to maintaining public order through continuous and strict enforcement efforts.
