Under the directives of First Deputy Prime Minister and Interior Minister Sheikh Fahad Yousef Saud Al-Sabah, Kuwaiti authorities have dismantled an organized gang specializing in forging official documents to secure European visas for illegal immigration and asylum purposes.
The crackdown followed Sheikh Fahad’s recent visit to Egypt, which strengthened security coordination between the two countries. The gang's activities involved creating fake work permits, salary statements, occupational records, and bank statements—documents typically required for Schengen visa applications.
Authorities raided the residence of the main suspect and his brother, seizing forgery tools, electronic devices, and passports. Several Egyptian nationals who had received fraudulent visas were also arrested. The gang primarily targeted private sector workers under Article 18 residency, charging them between 950 and 1,500 Kuwaiti dinars.
Some individuals successfully used the forged documents to travel to EU countries. The Ministry of Interior confirmed this case as an example of transnational organized crime and a serious misuse of Kuwait as a transit hub for illegal immigration. All suspects have been referred to the relevant legal authorities.
