The Ministry of Interior in Kuwait has arrested a citizen for operating cryptocurrency mining equipment inside a rented residence in Sabah Al-Ahmad Residential City. The mining activity, which is banned due to its high electricity consumption and impact on the national power grid, was discovered during routine investigations.According to a press release from the General Department of Security Relations and Media, the operation was part of ongoing efforts led by First Deputy Prime Minister and Interior Minister Sheikh Fahad Al-Yousef to crack down on unlicensed and illegal activities.Authorities revealed that the individual had rented the house from a person whose Kuwaiti citizenship had recently been revoked. With permission from the Public Prosecution Office, a raid was conducted, resulting in the arrest of the suspect.During questioning, the accused admitted to resuming mining operations 15 days prior after briefly shutting down due to recent security crackdowns.
