Paris: Kuwait’s Health Minister Dr. Ahmed Al-Awadhi has signed landmark memoranda of understanding (MoUs) with five of France’s most prominent healthcare institutions to strengthen bilateral ties in medical services, training, and research.

Dr. Al-Awadhi described the agreements as a “new phase” in Kuwait-France health relations, aligning with the vision of His Highness the Amir Sheikh Meshal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah to advance Kuwait’s healthcare sector through international collaboration.

The MoUs cover key specialties, including oncology, cardiology, organ transplantation, and advanced diagnostic support. They will enable the exchange of expertise, launch specialized training and fellowship programs, expand telemedicine services, and support joint clinical research.

Assistant Undersecretary Dr. Hisham Kalander highlighted that Kuwaiti patients will benefit from world-class consultations without needing to travel abroad, while local doctors will gain access to cutting-edge training and visiting experts.

Kuwaiti Ambassador to France Abdullah Al-Shaheen emphasized that these MoUs reflect the deepening strategic partnership between Kuwait and France, marking a direct outcome of His Highness the Amir’s recent visit to Paris.

The agreements were signed at the Kuwaiti Embassy in Paris with representatives from renowned French institutions: Almviva Group, Curie Hospital, Foch Hospital, Montessori Institute, and Rothschild Foundation Hospital — all leaders in European medical innovation and education.

The partnerships aim to raise the quality of care in Kuwait, enhance the skills of national healthcare professionals, and expand scientific collaboration for new treatments and medical breakthroughs.
