Dubai: In a landmark moment for UAE sports, Dubai Basketball Club has secured a spot in the renowned EuroLeague starting from the 2025–26 season, further cementing Dubai’s status as a rising hub for global sports.

The announcement was made by His Highness Sheikh Mansoor bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, President of the UAE Olympic Committee and Chairman of the Dubai Sports Council, who emphasized the emirate’s commitment to supporting its sports teams and fostering opportunities for local talent to shine internationally.

Launched in 2023, Dubai Basketball Club has quickly become a formidable competitor both locally and abroad. Sheikh Mansoor praised the club’s meteoric rise, noting that its inclusion in the EuroLeague will strengthen the tournament and inspire the next generation of Emirati athletes.

The team boasts a diverse roster of elite players from the UAE and countries such as the Philippines, USA, Serbia, Croatia, Slovenia, Jordan, Türkiye, Latvia, Italy, Bosnia, and France — all led by FIBA-certified coaching staff to maintain high standards of play.

Dubai’s entry comes as the EuroLeague expands to 20 teams, aiming to offer more games, foster rivalries, and reach wider audiences worldwide. The club will compete in 38 regular-season matches and host home games at Dubai’s Coca-Cola Arena.

This milestone means Dubai Basketball Club will share the stage with legendary teams like Real Madrid, FC Barcelona, Olympiacos, and Fenerbahçe, gaining exposure to over 300 million global viewers annually.

Earlier in the 2024–25 season, the club impressed in its first outing at the Adriatic Basketball Association (ABA) League, advancing to the semi-finals against strong teams from the Balkans and the UAE.

By stepping onto the EuroLeague stage, Dubai Basketball Club not only raises the UAE’s profile in international basketball but also fuels the broader vision for professional sports growth across the region.
