The MAJRA National CSR Fund has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Careem, witnessed by Abdullah bin Touq Al Marri, Minister of Economy and Chairman of MAJRA’s Board of Trustees.

The agreement aims to boost joint cooperation under Careem’s Annual Summer Initiatives, providing vital on-the-ground support for delivery captains during the UAE’s hottest months.

This year’s expanded campaign will benefit more than 60,000 delivery captains from various platforms across Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Sharjah, and Ras Al Khaimah. Key measures include air-conditioned mobile rest areas and sustainable, solar-powered rest stops equipped with cooling, free Wi-Fi, drinking water, and refreshments. These facilities are strategically located in high-traffic delivery zones to give captains safe and comfortable spaces to rest and rehydrate.

In addition, Careem will distribute Captain Kits containing towels, water bottles, and hydration supplements. Free health screenings, in partnership with the Pakistan Association Dubai (PAD), will also be available throughout the summer. Captains can access extra hydration and cooling support such as free ice cream, fruit juices, and cold water dispensers at busy delivery areas.

Sarah Shaw, CEO of MAJRA National CSR Fund, highlighted that the collaboration aligns with the UAE’s ‘Year of Community’ and underlines MAJRA’s commitment to supporting meaningful initiatives that enhance safety and wellbeing for frontline workers.

Mudassir Sheikha, CEO and co-founder of Careem, added, “These summer initiatives offer practical support to make working conditions safer and more comfortable for captains, helping them earn with greater ease during extreme heat.”
