Germany: A senior UAE delegation headed by Omran Sharaf, Assistant Foreign Minister for Advanced Science and Technology, completed a strategic visit to Germany to deepen collaboration in advanced science, innovation, and future technologies.
Starting in Berlin, the delegation participated in GITEX Europe and held discussions with German officials including Dr. Karsten Wildberger, Federal Minister for Digital Affairs and State Modernisation; Dr. Silke Launert, Parliamentary State Secretary for Research, Technology, and Space; and Gitta Connemann, Commissioner for SMEs at the Ministry of Economic Affairs.
The UAE team joined a roundtable with NUMOV, Germany’s leading MENA economic platform, and visited the Merantix AI Campus to engage with AI industry leaders. They also took part in sessions organized by the Ghorfa Arab-German Chamber of Commerce and Industry to strengthen economic and technological links.
In southern Germany, the delegation attended the TECH25 Conference in Heilbronn, where Sharaf participated in a featured interview with Handelsblatt and met German innovators. In Stuttgart, meetings with Danyal Bayaz, Minister of Finance, and Christoph Werner, CEO of dm-drogerie mark, further expanded ties.
The UAE reiterated its dedication to global collaboration to advance technology, innovation, and economic competitiveness. The delegation included UAE Ambassador Ahmed Alattar, Rashid Al Teneiji, Nouf Al Hameli, and representatives from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and EDGE Group.
