Dubai RTA Announces Six New Projects to Ease Traffic and Boost Road Efficiency

Dubai's Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has announced six new infrastructure and transport projects set to be implemented in October. These initiatives are designed to alleviate traffic congestion, improve traffic flow, and increase road efficiency throughout the emirate. The projects are a key part of Dubai's broader strategy under the Dubai 2040 Urban Master Plan to build a more developed and sustainable transportation network.

Several projects have already been completed, including a new link connecting Al Kifaf to the Sabeel Tunnel, which has doubled its capacity and significantly eased congestion on Sheikh Zayed Road. Additionally, expansion work on Sheikh Saeed Bin Hamdan Al Nahyan Street has added a third lane to improve traffic and access for residents. A notable 300-meter bridge has also opened, providing direct access from Sheikh Zayed Road to the Mall of the Emirates for traffic from Abu Dhabi and Jebel Ali.

Three more projects are currently under construction and expected to be finished by the end of October. These include new truck rest stops near Emirates Road, a cycling track in Al Jaddaf, and a new service road lane on Sheikh Zayed Road leading to Al Bada Street, which is scheduled to open on October 31st. The RTA emphasized that these developments not only save commuters time but also strengthen Dubai's global standing by enhancing connectivity and quality of life.
