Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi has emphasized Kuwait's significant role in preserving aspects of India's ancient cultural heritage during his address at the "Gyan Bharat" international conference in New Delhi. Modi shared a personal experience from his Kuwait visit where a citizen showed him rare documents documenting India's historic maritime trade routes, highlighting the deep cultural connections between the two nations.

The Prime Minister revealed that India currently preserves approximately 10 million manuscripts—the world's largest collection—spanning over 80 languages including Sanskrit, Prakrit, Bengali, Malayalam, and Kannada. These manuscripts cover diverse subjects from philosophy and medicine to astronomy, arts, and mathematics, representing not just historical records but embodying India's cultural spirit across millennia.

Modi acknowledged that many manuscripts were lost through wars and destruction over centuries, but the remaining collection stands as testament to India's ancestral passion for science and knowledge. The recognition of Kuwait's preservation efforts underscores the enduring cultural and historical ties between the two countries through ancient trade routes and shared heritage.
