Kuwait transitions to autumn with cooling temperatures after summer heat waves

Kuwait has transitioned into the autumnal equinox season, leaving behind intense summer heat waves that reached 48-50 degrees Celsius, according to meteorologist Issa Ramadan. September serves as a transitional period between summer and fall, characterized by gradually decreasing temperatures, shorter daylight hours, and changing wind patterns.

Ramadan explained that this month marks the beginning of the "Safri days" period, typically associated with seasonal illnesses including allergies, colds, and eye infections due to significant temperature variations between day and night. Minimum temperatures in desert areas may drop below 25 degrees Celsius during early morning hours, while the disintegration of the Indian monsoon depression allows for the movement of western air masses and depressions.

The meteorological shift also signals the start of the "Al-Wasm" season, known as the anticipated rainy period in Kuwait and the region, coinciding with the appearance of the "Sarfa Star" that traditionally marks the end of extreme heat. These changes pave the way for more moderate climate conditions conducive to outdoor activities and daily routines.
