Dubai's Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has completed a 700-meter expansion project on Sheikh Zayed Road near the Umm al-Shaif Street exit, adding a seventh lane to improve traffic flow. The upgrade increases the road's capacity by 16 percent, now accommodating up to 14,000 vehicles per hour and reducing congestion during evening rush hours.
The enhancement specifically benefits vehicles arriving from Abu Dhabi, with overlap points near the Umm Shaif junction now remaining clear during peak traffic periods.
