During a narcotics raid in the Doha area, officers from the General Department of Drug Control seized a quantity of marijuana along with drug paraphernalia, including precision scales and empty bags, from individuals suspected of trafficking and use. While security personnel were completing legal procedures and searching the residence, they were violently assaulted by the mother and two sisters of one of the accused. In the attack, one sister forcefully slammed a glass door onto an officer’s hand, causing a deep cut that injured a tendon and required hospital treatment.

The Ministry of Interior strongly condemned the assault, characterizing it as a serious crime that compounds the original drug offenses. In an official statement, the ministry emphasized that the dignity and authority of security forces are “a red line” that will be protected under all circumstances. It vowed to apply the full force of the law against all those involved in the attack.

The ministry reaffirmed its commitment to taking strict legal measures against the perpetrators to uphold both public security and the rule of law. This incident highlights the risks faced by anti-drug units and the government’s zero-tolerance policy toward assaults on security personnel, reinforcing its dedication to maintaining social order and the safety of its officers.
