Kuwait Launches Major Security Crackdown in Jleeb and Khaitan, Shuts 19 Violating Shops

Kuwait’s Ministry of Interior, led by First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Sheikh Fahad Al-Yousef, executed a large-scale security campaign in Jleeb Al-Shuyoukh and Khaitan. The operation, involving multiple government agencies, targeted illegal properties, unlicensed shops, and residency violations, resulting in the closure of 19 shops, fines for unlicensed commercial activities, and the apprehension of 26 violators.

The raid followed a visual presentation to the Council of Ministers three days prior, detailing efforts to address regulatory breaches in these areas. Under Al-Yousef’s direct supervision, agencies including the Public Fire Force, Kuwait Municipality, and Environment Public Authority collaborated to dismantle informal markets and remove mobile grocery stores operating without permits.

Sheikh Fahad Al-Yousef emphasized zero tolerance for violations, ordering authorities to monitor establishments rigorously and apply immediate, deterrent measures against offenders. The campaign aligns with broader initiatives to combat negative phenomena, enhance public safety, and uphold legal and regulatory standards across Kuwait.

The Ministry of Interior reaffirmed its commitment to ongoing field campaigns in coordination with relevant entities, aiming to eliminate all forms of violations, protect societal interests, and ensure long-term security and order in densely populated and commercially active zones like Jleeb and Khaitan.
