Kuwait’s General Department of Residence Affairs Investigations has conducted a large-scale security campaign across all governorates, resulting in the arrest of 258 individuals for violations including expired residencies, overstayed visas, and outstanding warrants. The operation underscores the government’s commitment to enforcing residency and labor laws while maintaining national security and order.
The Ministry of Interior emphasized that the crackdown targets both workers and employers who violate regulations, with zero tolerance for infractions. Authorities warned that accountability measures will be applied strictly and without leniency, in line with Kuwait’s Residence and Labor Law. The campaign aims to curb illegal employment practices and eliminate security risks associated with residency violations.
The operation was carried out under the direct supervision of Brigadier General Fawaz Al-Roumi, Head of the Nationality, Residence, and Citizenship Sector, following directives from First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Sheikh Fahad Al-Yousef. The ministry reiterated its ongoing efforts to monitor and apprehend violators, ensuring compliance with legal requirements.
This nationwide campaign reflects Kuwait’s proactive security strategy to address residency fraud and labor violations. By intensifying inspections and enforcement, authorities aim to deter future breaches and reinforce the rule of law, contributing to a more secure and regulated labor market.
