Bahrain is set to construct its largest football stadium in Sitra, as part of Manama Municipality's efforts to enhance sports infrastructure across the capital. A delegation led by Capital Municipality Director General Eng. Mohammed Saad Al Sahli recently inspected the proposed 8,184-square-meter site, accompanied by MP Jalila Al Saeed Alavi, Ahmed Khalil (Director of Health, Safety, and Environment at BAPCO Refinery Modernization Project), and officials from BAPCO Refining Company.

Key Features of Sitra Stadium:
  • FIFA-standard artificial turf football pitch
  • Dressing rooms and ample parking spaces
  • Pedestrian walkways and landscaped green areas
  • Part of a broader initiative to boost community sports

Al Sahli emphasized that the project aligns with the municipality’s vision to improve quality of life by providing modern, safe, and well-equipped sports facilities for youth. The stadium will serve as a hub for local football development, reinforcing Bahrain’s commitment to fostering athletic talent and healthy lifestyles.

This initiative is among several major infrastructure projects aimed at upgrading public sports facilities, supported by BAPCO Energy, a key player in Bahrain’s energy sector transformation.
