Under the supervision of Acting Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Sheikh Fahd Al-Yousef, Kuwait’s security forces have dismantled a major diesel smuggling operation based on a farm in Al-Abdali. The raid, also attended by Assistant Undersecretary for Public Security Major General Hamed Al-Dawwas, resulted in the seizure of 33 containers filled with diesel, along with pumps and machinery used for illicit fuel storage and distribution. The operation was carried out by the General Department of Criminal Investigation following actionable intelligence about hidden petroleum products on the premises.
During the crackdown, nine individuals—including a citizen suspected of managing the illegal operation—were arrested at the farm. Separately, the farm owner was apprehended at the Nuwaiseeb border crossing while attempting to flee the country. Authorities also confiscated receipts for large foreign money transfers linked to the smuggling network, initiating necessary legal actions against all individuals involved.
The Ministry of Interior issued a strong warning that any property used for illegal purposes or activities outside its intended legal scope would be confiscated. The ministry reaffirmed its commitment to ongoing security campaigns aimed at curbing smuggling, protecting national resources, and upholding the rule of law. Violators will be referred to the competent legal authorities for prosecution.
In a public statement, the ministry urged all citizens and residents to comply with national laws and to report any suspicious activities that threaten the country’s security or economic resources. This operation highlights Kuwait’s intensified efforts to combat organized smuggling operations that undermine state revenue and pose security risks.
